The Continuity Program exists to preserve access—not ownership.
It is designed to protect both developers and customers by ensuring that software does not simply disappear because its creator is no longer maintaining it.
What Is the Continuity Program?
The Lyrinox Continuity Program is an optional preservation service available to developers selling software through Lyrinox Market.
Participating developers authorize Lyrinox, under a signed per-product agreement, to continue distributing previously released compiled versions of their software if that product is permanently abandoned according to the terms of the agreement.
This ensures customers can continue accessing software they have purchased long after active development has ended.
Participation Is Optional
The Continuity Program is entirely voluntary.
No product is enrolled automatically.
Each participating product requires its own signed Continuity Agreement.
Developers retain complete control over whether a product participates.
What Happens During Normal Development?
Nothing changes.
While your project remains actively maintained:
- You retain complete ownership.
- You publish updates normally.
- You manage customer support.
- You determine pricing.
- You control distribution.
Lyrinox has no additional rights beyond those required to operate the marketplace.
When Does Continuity Begin?
Continuity is intended only for projects that have been permanently abandoned.
The exact definition of abandonment is established by the signed Continuity Agreement.
Examples may include:
- Company dissolution.
- Permanent discontinuation of the product.
- Extended developer inactivity.
- Explicit written notice from the developer.
- Other mutually agreed criteria.
Continuity is never activated simply because updates become infrequent.
Many successful software products receive maintenance updates only occasionally.
What Happens If Continuity Is Activated?
Once Continuity is activated:
Lyrinox may continue distributing previously released compiled versions that were already sold through Lyrinox Market.
No new versions are created.
No new features are added.
No source code is modified.
The purpose is preservation—not continued development.
Customers retain access to software they already trusted.
What Software Is Eligible?
The Continuity Program is intended primarily for:
- Desktop applications.
- Self-hosted software.
- Commercial binaries.
- Applications using the Lyrinox Market licensing system.
Source code products are generally not eligible.
Open-source projects typically do not require continuity protection because their continued distribution is already governed by their open-source license.
Eligibility is determined during enrollment.
What Rights Does Lyrinox Receive?
Only the rights specifically granted by the signed Continuity Agreement.
These rights exist solely to preserve customer access.
Unless otherwise specified in the agreement, Lyrinox does not receive ownership of:
- Source code.
- Trademarks.
- Future versions.
- Product branding.
- Intellectual property.
The developer remains the copyright owner.
Legacy Certification
Products participating in the Continuity Program become eligible for Legacy Certification.
Legacy Certification recognizes software that:
- Successfully earned the Lyrinox Seal of Quality.
- Has reached the end of active development.
- Has not materially changed.
- Continues to be available through the Continuity Program.
Legacy Certification is provided at no additional cost.
Once granted, the Legacy Certification and Certification Report remain permanently associated with that release line.
A great product should not lose its reputation simply because it reached maturity.

Products enrolled in the Lyrinox Continuous Certification Program receive access to the Continuity Program at no additional cost.
Enrollment remains optional and still requires a signed Continuity Agreement.
Continuity-Only
For developers who do not require certification, the Continuity Program is available independently.
Suggested Pricing
US$3 per product per month
Includes:
- Continuity enrollment.
